Corfe Castle, Dorset
Saturday 20 March 2027 · 6am · Castle Lake, Corfe Castle
Welcome spring with a sunrise swim beneath the ruins of Corfe Castle.
Join us at spring fed Castle Lake in the very early hours of the Spring Equinox for an experience designed to wake up the senses, reconnect with nature and mark the changing of the seasons.
We’ll meet at 6am, ready to experience the lake at first light. As the sky begins to brighten and the sun rises behind the ancient ruins of Corfe Castle, we’ll head into the water for a series of relaxed, supervised swims and dips, with plenty of time to warm up afterwards in the sauna.
For the first hour, the focus is simple: swim, dip, warm up, breathe and enjoy being outside. Whether you’re a regular cold-water swimmer or simply fancy doing something a little different to welcome spring, there’s no pressure to swim a particular distance. You can dip, swim or simply enjoy the atmosphere from the water’s edge.
Then slow things down...
After our swim and sauna, we’ll head into the trees for a short, guide led tree bathing taster session.
Tree bathing is a simple practice of slowing down and spending mindful time amongst trees and woodland. Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, it encourages us to put away the distractions of everyday life and engage with the natural world through our senses, noticing the sounds, smells, textures, light and movement around us.
You don't need to be experienced in meditation or mindfulness. This is simply an opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply and be present in nature.
And then, because no Wild Swimming Co. experience is complete without it, we'll finish with a slice of The Wild Swimming Co's famous cake, the perfect reward after an early-morning adventure.
