Join us for an unforgettable all-inclusive wild swimming retreat based in the heart of Eryri National Park, staying at The Rocks, Capel Curig, perfectly positioned amongst some of North Wales' most spectacular mountain scenery.

Just a short stroll from beautiful mountain lakes and our favourite river dipping spot, The Rocks is the ideal base for two days of adventure, connection and restoration. Spend your days exploring crystal-clear lakes, hidden waterfalls, winding rivers and dramatic mountain landscapes before returning to relax, refuel and share stories with fellow swimmers.

Working alongside expert local guides, we'll take you beyond the obvious, discovering secret swim locations that showcase the very best of Eryri. Whether you're floating beneath towering peaks, plunging into emerald pools or enjoying a peaceful sunrise dip, every swim is chosen to leave you inspired.

This retreat is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the incredible feeling that only wild swimming can bring.

Shared Dorm Space

Share a dormitory room with 3 or 4 like-minded people, ideal for solo travellers or friends alike. We'll put you all in contact via WhatsApp before the trip so as you can say hello.

ITINERARY (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Day 1

We meet at our first swim location at 1pm, likely to be a glorious lake in the lee of Mount Yr Wyddfa. This guided swim and swim clinic (or intro to Cold Water dipping) will give you a chance to improve your stroke or try a new stroke under the supervision of our qualified and experienced swim coaches.

 

Be sure to bring your hot drinks flasks fully charged to accompany homemade cake before we head to the accommodation for rooming.

 

Dinner with table wine will be followed by our famous 'Tame the Tides' talk in the lounge.

Day 2

Early birds will be wowed by an outstanding sunrise dip with warm croissants.

 

A hearty, healthy breakfast will be followed by a drive out to a spectacular Eryri waterfall—perfect for an Instagram-worthy shot!

 

In the afternoon, enjoy an optional hike around Yr Wyddfa, taking in its breath taking landscapes. End the day with a serene sunset dip in Snowdon's clear waters.

Day 3

 Pancakes for breakfast will be followed by a short drive out to Elephant Rock, this incredible lake sits at the foot of Yr Wyddfa. A point-to-point swim will be possible for those who want a challenge!

 

Homemade lemon drizzle cake will end a perfect few days in the mountains.

RETREAT FAQ

Is there a wetsuit policy?

We’ll always recommend a wetsuit, they will keep you warmer for longer and you’ll be more buoyant. We’ll be swimming in some iconic locations, wearing a wetsuit may mean that you can enjoy the swim for a little longer than you are used to. However we understand that it’s not for everyone, therefore wetsuits are always optional.

Is there a tow float policy?

When we swim on a journey, we do require all swimmers to wear tow floats. However they are also compulsory for dips in depth. This helps us manage the group and be super visible which in turn improves safety.

How do you manage safety?

All of our Guides are beach lifeguards and first aiders, all of our swim locations are carefully reccied, risk assessed and led by guides who are experienced in that location.

Are there any ability requirements?

Our swim retreats are ideally suited for complete beginners who want to try wild swimming, they are also carefully planned so as improvers and intermediate swimmers are challenged. So, come along for a float around, or complete along and swim up to 2km per day. We’ll have at least one swim coach on each of our trips.

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to spend hundreds on specialist kit to come on a Wild Swimming Retreat, but you will need a tow float (which you can buy when you’re here!), a towel or robe and footwear that you can wear in the water. We can talk through all the posh bits and pieces on the market when you’re with us.

Do you track distances, times and temperatures?

We try not to get too hung up on times, distances and temperatures. We are just having a wonderful time in iconic places with great people. However if improving is your plan, we can help you swim up to 2km per day. We’ll also have a swim coach on every trip.
