North Wales
The Eryri Retreat | Four Days of Wild Swimming in Snowdonia
21 - 24 October 2027 | Eryri (Snowdonia) North Wales
Four days. Three nights. Countless wild swimming adventures and dipping in waterfalls
North Wales is calling, and for 2027, our much-loved Eryri Retreat is getting a beautiful new home.
We're heading to Plas Colwyn in Beddgelert, one of the most enchanting villages in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia). Surrounded by dramatic mountains, ancient woodland, rushing rivers and spectacular waterfalls, this is a place steeped in Welsh history, mythology and natural beauty. We can't wait to share its secrets with you.
With four days and three nights to explore, we'll have more time to discover the extraordinary swimming spots that make this corner of Wales so special. From crystal-clear waterfall pools and tumbling rivers to peaceful mountain lakes, every day brings a new opportunity to immerse yourself in the wild.
Discover the magic of Eryri
Led by our experienced wild swimming guides, we'll venture beyond the obvious to explore some of the region's most beautiful natural waters.
Imagine stepping into a clear mountain pool beneath a cascading waterfall, swimming through landscapes shaped by centuries of Welsh history, or pausing beside a rushing river to appreciate the sheer beauty of the mountains around you.
We'll choose our swimming locations according to the weather, water levels and group ability, making the most of the conditions and discovering the best adventures available each day.
Along the way, our guides will share their knowledge of the local landscape, its fascinating history and mythology, and how to enjoy these incredible places responsibly. Whether you're an experienced wild swimmer or relatively new to the adventure, you'll be supported to swim at your own pace and build confidence in natural water.
Your beautiful home in Beddgelert
For 2027, we're upgrading our base to Plas Colwyn, giving us a wonderful place to return to after days spent exploring the Welsh wilderness.
Beddgelert is a village full of character, history and charm, nestled among forests, rivers and mountains. Wander its beautiful streets, discover its local stories and soak up the atmosphere of a place that feels wonderfully connected to the landscape around it.
Our accommodation gives us the perfect base for a longer adventure, with time to relax, recharge and enjoy the company of your fellow swimmers between days out in the wild.
One of the best things about this retreat is having an extra day to explore. There's no need to cram everything into a single weekend. We can take our time discovering different corners of Eryri, enjoying longer adventures and making the most of the incredible variety of swimming locations on our doorstep.
Expect beautiful walks, invigorating dips, spectacular scenery and those special moments that make wild swimming so rewarding — the stillness of a mountain morning, the sound of water tumbling over rocks and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature.
Delicious food and the freedom to explore
Good adventures deserve good food!
Breakfast is included every morning, helping you fuel up for the day ahead, and we'll enjoy lunch between our swimming adventures to keep everyone going.
On our first and final evenings, we'll share dinner together, making time to relax and get to know the group after a day outdoors.
For our middle evening, you'll have the freedom to explore Betws-y-Coed's lovely local pubs and restaurants, or make use of the self-catering kitchen at our accommodation to prepare something of your own. It's your retreat, so there's room for a little independence alongside our shared adventures.
Is this retreat for you?
This experience is perfect for people who love the outdoors, enjoy exploring new places and want to discover wild swimming beyond their usual spots.
You don't need to be an elite swimmer. Our experienced guides will help you get the most from the experience, with swims selected around the conditions and the group. A reasonable level of general fitness, an adventurous spirit and a willingness to embrace the elements are important, as some outings may involve walking over uneven terrain and spending extended periods outdoors.
Whether you're coming alone, with a partner or alongside a friend, you'll be joining a small group of like-minded people who share a love of wild places and unforgettable experiences.
