The 100th Wild Swimming Co. Retreat

12–15 August 2027 | Sandyholme House, Studland, Dorset

100 retreats. Thousands of swimmers. Countless unforgettable moments. One very special celebration.

Join Rich, Mel and the team for a landmark four-day wild swimming escape as we celebrate our 100th retreat with The Wild Swimming Co. Returning to our iconic original location in Studland, Dorset, this is your chance to be part of something truly special.

There will be cake, but now, there will also be bubbles!! and iconic swims every day, with more chartered boats and maximum adventure.

Over three nights at beautiful Sandyholme House, we'll celebrate everything that makes our retreats unique: incredible open water swimming, spectacular coastal adventures, good food, great company and that unmistakable Wild Swimming Co. feeling.

Four days of iconic swims

Every day will bring a new adventure, with some of the most spectacular swimming spots along the Jurassic Coast. Depending on conditions, expect the likes of Dancing Ledge, Old Harry Rocks, Durdle Door and Chapman's Pool.

We're also planning something brand new: the Swanage Swoosh! For the first time, we're aiming to deliver a fully managed, guided swim around the entirety of Swanage Bay, using the tide to help carry us along the coast. We'll take care of all the logistics, so you can focus on the experience. We believe this could become a real highlight of our future retreat calendar, and you'll have the chance to be among the very first to experience it.

Good food, great company and a proper celebration

Enjoy three nights at Sandyholme House, with breakfast every morning, delicious lunches between dips and, of course, plenty of cake! Dinner at the accommodation on our first evening is included. On nights 2 and 3, celebrate with founders Rich & Mel at a local pub/ restaurant, or, stay home use you self catering kitchen.

But this isn't just another retreat. It's our 100th, and we're going to celebrate in style.

On our special celebration evening, join us for a glass of bubbles and delicious canapés foraged from the surrounding landscape, before heading out on an unforgettable adventure swim towards the Knoll Beach sauna.

Then, we'll come together with Rich, Mel and the team to raise a glass and celebrate the community, adventures and memories that have brought us to this incredible milestone. Wine is included with our meals, naturally!

Whether you've joined us on dozens of retreats or are discovering us for the first time, you'll be welcomed into the community that has made The Wild Swimming Co. what it is today.

One hundred retreats. One incredible community. Some of the UK's most iconic swims. One unforgettable celebration.

Come and make history with us.

ITINERARY (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Day 1 – Where It All Began

1:00 pm – Welcome to Sandyholm House

Arrive at our original retreat home in beautiful Studland, Dorset, where the Wild Swimming Co. story began. Settle in with a glass of bubbles, homemade cake and our signature foraged canapés as we kick off our 100th retreat in style.

After a welcome and safety briefing, we'll head down to South Beach, Studland, to board our chartered powerboat and head out to Old Harry Rocks. Explore the spectacular chalk stacks from the water and enjoy a swim at one of our all-time favourite locations.

Back at Sandyholme enjoy our signature homemade, stone-baked pizzas in the garden before heading out for a sunset dip to round off our first day together.

Day 2 – The Swanage Swoosh

Start the day with an early sunrise dip at Studland Beach before returning for breakfast at 8:30 am.

Then it's time for something brand new: the first-ever Swanage Swoosh! Join us for a managed, guided swim around the entirety of Swanage Bay, making the most of the tide to help carry us along the coast. We'll take care of the logistics and safety planning, leaving you free to enjoy this exciting new adventure. We hope this will become a signature experience for years to come.

After lunch on the beach, lovingly prepared by Mel, join Rich for a coastal walk towards Durlston Lighthouse. Keep your eyes peeled for seals and rare seabirds, with the possibility of a refreshing dip at a very special location if conditions allow.

This evening, it's time to celebrate! We'll head to a local pub to mark 100 Wild Swimming Co. retreats with Rich, Mel and the team. Expect great company, plenty of stories and a proper toast to the community that has made it all possible.

Day 3 – The Iconic Jurassic Coast

Enjoy breakfast at 8:30 am before heading out for one of the most breathtaking swims on the Jurassic Coast: Durdle Door.

With support from a chartered boat, we'll explore this world-famous coastline from the water, enjoying a memorable swim beneath its spectacular natural limestone arch, subject to sea and weather conditions.

Afterwards, enjoy another delicious beach lunch before returning to Sandyholme House for some well-earned downtime.

In the evening, we'll head out together to a local restaurant for dinner with the team, sharing stories from the day's adventures and making the most of our time together.

Day 4 – One Last Dip

Enjoy a final breakfast together at 8:30 am before heading out for our last swim of the retreat at Dancing Ledge, home to its famous tidal swimming pool, carved into the dramatic Dorset coastline.

If conditions allow, we may explore the nearby caves and look out for Dorset's famous puffins from a respectful distance.

It's the perfect opportunity to take in the beauty of this incredible coastline one last time, celebrate new friendships and reflect on four unforgettable days of swimming, adventure and community.

After 100 retreats, we couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate than by getting back in the water together.

Four days. Iconic swims. One incredible community. A milestone worth celebrating.

Please note: The itinerary is weather, sea-state and tide dependent. All swims, boat trips and coastal activities are subject to suitable conditions and the judgement of our experienced team. Alternative activities or locations may be arranged where necessary.

RETREAT FAQ

Is there a wetsuit policy?

We’ll always recommend a wetsuit, they will keep you warmer for longer and you’ll be more buoyant. We’ll be swimming in some iconic locations, wearing a wetsuit may mean that you can enjoy the swim for a little longer than you are used to. However we understand that it’s not for everyone, therefore wetsuits are always optional.

Is there a tow float policy?

When we swim on a journey, we do require all swimmers to wear tow floats. However they are also compulsory for dips in depth. This helps us manage the group and be super visible which in turn improves safety.

How do you manage safety?

All of our Guides are beach lifeguards and first aiders, all of our swim locations are carefully reccied, risk assessed and led by guides who are experienced in that location.

Are there any ability requirements?

Our swim retreats are ideally suited for complete beginners who want to try wild swimming, they are also carefully planned so as improvers and intermediate swimmers are challenged. So, come along for a float around, or complete along and swim up to 2km per day. We’ll have at least one swim coach on each of our trips.

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to spend hundreds on specialist kit to come on a Wild Swimming Retreat, but you will need a tow float (which you can buy when you’re here!), a towel or robe and footwear that you can wear in the water. We can talk through all the posh bits and pieces on the market when you’re with us.

Do you track distances, times and temperatures?

We try not to get too hung up on times, distances and temperatures. We are just having a wonderful time in iconic places with great people. However if improving is your plan, we can help you swim up to 2km per day. We’ll also have a swim coach on every trip.
