Join us as we embark on a truly transformative journey along The South West Coast Path, beginning at South Haven Point, Studland – the gateway to UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, as well as the South West Coast Path and The Salt Path.

Inspired by the newly released film, The Salt Path, based on Raynor Winn’s bestselling memoir, we invite you to experience the resilience, love, and rediscovery that made their 630-mile walk so iconic. Like Raynor and Moth, who found solace and healing in the face of hardship, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with nature and find your own sense of purpose.

We’ll take care of every detail, from your campsite booking, to qualified walking guides, to handling your luggage if you wish, all backed by meticulous planning, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery.

You can choose to carry just a rucksack for the day and we’ll handle the rest, or carry everything yourself for the full Salt Path experience.

Our Lowland Leader qualified guides will be on hand to help you source the most suitable kit in the lead-up to the event so you’re fully prepared.

And of course, we’ll be pausing for invigorating swims in some of the most stunning and secluded wild locations along the coast.

Depending on group ability and pace, we’ll likely walk from Studland to Durlston’s Great Globe on Day 1, Clavell’s Tower in Kimmeridge Bay on Day 2, and finally hiking to Lulworth Cove on Day 3.

Discover the magic of the Jurassic Coast and find your own path to healing and adventure.

ITINERARY (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Day 1: The great globe

12pm arrival – Studland, Dorset

Your retreat begins with a warm welcome and a slice of homemade cake, setting the tone for a weekend of nourishment and adventure.

From our meeting point in Studland, we set out across the golden sands, weaving through dunes and wild grasses toward the quaint village itself. From here, we climb to the dramatic chalk cliffs of Old Harry Rocks, where sweeping views of the Jurassic Coast greet us.

We follow the South West Coast Path as it curves into Swanage Bay, with an optional wild dip at Sheps’ Hollow for those ready to feel the sea on their skin. The trail leads us through the limestone headlands of Durlston Country Park, finishing our first day at the sculptural wonder of The Great Globe, a fitting marker for the journey ahead.

As the day winds down, we’ll transport you to our peaceful campsite where a communal dinner awaits—gathered around the stove, sharing stories or simply enjoying the quiet as the sun sets over the hills.

Day 2: Dive into Dorset's beauty

We’ll start the day with a hearty campsite breakfast, freshly prepared to fuel your next adventure.

From The Great Globe, we pick up the trail once again—soon ticking off our first lighthouse of the day and winding along the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast. By midday, we’ll arrive at the striking Dancing Ledge, where we’ll pause for lunch and an optional dip in its natural rock pool—a true highlight of the route.

The afternoon takes us across wild and open terrain toward the fossil-rich shores of Kimmeridge Bay, where we’ll descend into the bay beneath the watchful presence of Clavell Tower.

From here, we’ll make our way to tonight’s campsite, nestled into the landscape—ready to rest, reflect, and share stories beneath the stars.

Day 3: A scenic challenge to finish

Morning Fuel: Start your day with a hearty breakfast, preparing you for one last adventure.

The Onwards Walk: We'll hike on, including a visit to Tyneham Village which features strongly in The Salt Path, this protected lunch spot will also allow a rare fresh coffee on the route.

The afternoon's walk will take us through Lulworth Ranges, through a fossil forest and secluded bays before reaching our final spot at Lulworth Cove.

Cake Finale: No retreat would be complete without one last serving of our signature homemade cake, the perfect treat to celebrate your achievements.

Farewell: The retreat concludes with a lift back to your cars at 4pm, leaving you with incredible memories, new friendships, and a heart full of Dorset's charm.

RETREAT FAQ

Is there a wetsuit policy?

We’ll always recommend a wetsuit, they will keep you warmer for longer and you’ll be more buoyant. We’ll be swimming in some iconic locations, wearing a wetsuit may mean that you can enjoy the swim for a little longer than you are used to. However we understand that it’s not for everyone, therefore wetsuits are always optional.

Is there a tow float policy?

When we swim on a journey, we do require all swimmers to wear tow floats. However they are also compulsory for dips in depth. This helps us manage the group and be super visible which in turn improves safety.

How do you manage safety?

All of our Guides are beach lifeguards and first aiders, all of our swim locations are carefully reccied, risk assessed and led by guides who are experienced in that location.

Are there any ability requirements?

Our swim retreats are ideally suited for complete beginners who want to try wild swimming, they are also carefully planned so as improvers and intermediate swimmers are challenged. So, come along for a float around, or complete along and swim up to 2km per day. We’ll have at least one swim coach on each of our trips.

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to spend hundreds on specialist kit to come on a Wild Swimming Retreat, but you will need a tow float (which you can buy when you’re here!), a towel or robe and footwear that you can wear in the water. We can talk through all the posh bits and pieces on the market when you’re with us.

Do you track distances, times and temperatures?

We try not to get too hung up on times, distances and temperatures. We are just having a wonderful time in iconic places with great people. However if improving is your plan, we can help you swim up to 2km per day. We’ll also have a swim coach on every trip.
